Scholarships

Dr. Flowers MCAT - NNLAMS Scholarship Guidelines

Dear NNLAMS Pre-Medical Student Member:

NNLAMS is proud to provide our Pre-Medical Student Members 10 scholarships to the Dr. Flowers MCAT online review course. The value of this 6 month personalized online review course is $995. Two scholarships will be awarded in each of the five NNLAMS Regions.

Application Deadlines:

November 1, 2008 (for 12/15/08 award)
March 1, 2009 (for 4/15/08 award)

Scholarship Award Dates:

December 15, 2008
April 15, 2009

In order to qualify for the NNLAMS Dr. Flowers MCAT Scholarship you must:

1. Register on-line as a Pre-Medical NNLAMS member => CLICK HERE
2. Demonstrate a history of leadership and/or service to Latino Healthcare
3. Be in good academic standing at your undergraduate institution

Requirements for a complete preliminary application:

2. Letter of Recommendation

Must be submitted directly from a current faculty or school advisor’s email account to scholarship@nnlams.org with subject line:

NNLAMS MCAT Scholarship Recommendation Letter for “STUDENT NAME”

Please include your recommendation letter writer’s complete mailing and contact information in your on-line application.

Letter of recommendation should specifically address the following areas:

i. Leadership and service activities, especially as relevant to Latino health concerns
ii. Financial need for MCAT review course

Secondary application materials:

If your application passes the preliminary process, you will be contacted via email to submit the following for the secondary portion of the application:

1. Submission of Undergraduate Transcript
- Please have your school send an official digital copy to scholarship@nnlams.org

2. 500 word essay describing why you should be awarded a scholarship and/or other comments you would like to make.

Please allow at least two weeks after submitting your application before contacting us regarding the status of your application.
